Photojournalism professor Rick Erlendson is bringing his photo show to Red Deer on May 12.
Erlendson, from Calgary’s Mount Royal University, offers a one-day course that teaches the essentials for great photographs.
“My course is not technical in nature. It’s not about learning to use a camera. It’s a course about composition and using natural lighting. It’s about design, perspective and strategies photojournalists use in their everyday work,” said Erlendson.
He adds the course is a rich experience for beginners and veterans alike.
The course also includes a multi-media show about photography that includes about 2,000 photographs taken over the last 35 years of his career.
The one-day course costs $99 and there is also a two-day ‘shoot with the pro’ field trip on May 13 for $99. Each course is $49.99 for seniors and students.
The course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Central Alberta Theatre at 4214 58th St.
