Two people facing several charges including child endangerment in connection with a drug bust, which netted $120,000 worth of marijuana, were ordered Tuesday to return to court in late July.

Aaron Joseph Schaefer, 30, and Sylvia Macintyre, 28, will return to Red Deer provincial court on July 21.

Red Deer Rural RCMP said earlier they busted an alleged marijuana grow operation in a residence at a trailer court near Burnt Lake Trail west of Red Deer on June 10.

Cpl. Andrew Shepherd said the search was executed by the rural and the Red Deer City drug units around 1 p.m. The search was part of an ongoing investigation. A three-year-old child was in the home at the time. The child was removed and placed with other family members.

The search turned up a marijuana grow operation including 97 marijuana plants.

Both accused face charges of production of a substance, trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of child abandonment.
