Sylvan Lake RCMP have released the names of two men killed at the intersection of Hwys 11 and 781 on Saturday night.
Arnold Wade Scott, 35, and Dale Ernest Meckler, 47, both of Sylvan Lake, died at the scene of the two-vehicle crash that occurred at about 9 p.m.
Police say the two men were passengers in a car driven by a 35-year-old Sylvan Lake woman.
The female driver was eastbound, then turned north onto Hwy 781 towards Sylvan Lake. A westbound five-ton truck collided with the car.
The truck driver, a 35-year-old from Manitoba, wasn’t injured. The car driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Cpl. Kevin Halwa said the investigation continues.
An RCMP reconstructionist is looking more into what happened, he added.
