Police probe fatal motorcycle crash

Police continue to investigate a motorcycle crash that killed a Red Deer man on Thursday.

Police continue to investigate a motorcycle crash that killed a Red Deer man on Thursday.

Red Deer city RCMP spokeswoman Const. Sabrina Grunow said on Friday that it will be some time before the reconstruction analyst finishes a report on what happened at the intersection of 32nd Street and 47th Avenue.

Among the factors that will be investigated are speed and traffic light signals at the time of the collision.

A 28-year-old Red Deer man, whose name isn’t being released at the request of his family, died in hospital shortly after passersby and emergency personnel performed CPR on him at the crash scene.

Red Deer city RCMP say the motorcycle was eastbound on 32nd Street when it collided with the front passenger side of the pickup truck. The truck had been westbound and was making a left-hand turn onto 47th Avenue when the crash occurred.

Traffic was diverted for several hours.
