Police search for heavy-set man who broke into woman's home

RCMP are searching for a heavy-set man who broke into a southside residence on Tuesday only to find a woman at home.

RCMP are searching for a heavy-set man who broke into a southside residence on Tuesday only to find a woman at home.

Cpl. Kathe DeHeer of city RCMP said the incident occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of 49th Avenue.

The suspect knocked on the door and when the door wasn’t answered, he went around to the back door and kicked it open.

The male entered the home but ran off when he was surprised by a 51-year-old woman.

He fled on foot and is described as being 1.83 metres (six feet) tall and clean shaven. He was bald and heavy set.

He wore red and white plaid shorts and carried a black and grey backpack.
