Red Deer RCMP issued a brief statement thanking the citizens of Red Deer and the local media in the swift apprehension of Terence Bigchild.
A provincewide warrant was issued for Bigchild on Wednesday for an alleged sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
Upon seeing his name and photo in the media, Bigchild turned himself in hours later.
Bigchild, 32, was released from custody and is set to appear in Red Deer provincial court on April 5.
