Ponoka liquor store robbed by hammer-wielding suspect

Ponoka RCMP are looking for the public’s help in tracking down a young robber who held up a liquor store on Monday night.

At about 8 p.m., a lone male walked into the business on Hwy 2A. He used a hammer to threaten the store clerk. He fled with liquor and cash. The clerk was unharmed.

The suspect is described as a native male who is about 17 years old.

He stands about 1.7 metres (foot seven inches) and has a thin build. The suspect was clean shaven with short black hair.

He was wearing a blue ball cap, a black winter jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, plus very baggy black pants that revealed his underwear.
