Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning.
Heavy rain is expected on Monday, May 12, with total amounts of 50-70 millimetres, the rainfall warning states.
"Rain will intensify this morning and continue through tonight. Wet snow is expected for higher elevations in the foothills, with up to 10 (centimetres) of accumulation possible."
Rain will taper off on the morning of Tuesday, May 13.
"Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Be prepared for possible winter conditions at higher elevations. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts."
