RCMP hunt suspect in robbery

Red Deer City RCMP are looking for a lone male suspect after an armed robbery occurred at the Save-On Foods Gas Bar, located in the 3000 block of 22nd Street in Red Deer, on Saturday morning.

Red Deer City RCMP are looking for a lone male suspect after an armed robbery occurred at the Save-On Foods Gas Bar, located in the 3000 block of 22nd Street in Red Deer, on Saturday morning.

As two employees were preparing to open for the day, a lone man brandishing a knife forced them into the store. The man had his face concealed by a mask and demanded cash, which the employees gave him. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen travelling on foot, westbound on 22nd Street.

RCMP responded to the incident at 7:13 a.m. on Saturday and Red Deer RCMP police dog services assisted in the search for the man, but he was not located.

The suspect is described as being a man, 1.85 to 1.9 metres (six foot one to six foot two) in height, with a slim build, wearing a green and brown camouflage hooded jacket, blue jeans, black shoes and gloves.
