RCMP hunting for woman who robbed downtown Mohawk with knife

Red Deer City RCMP are looking for a woman who brandished a knife while robbing the downtown Mohawk gas station early Monday morning.

Red Deer City RCMP are looking for a woman who brandished a knife while robbing the downtown Mohawk gas station early Monday morning.

RCMP say that around 8:25 a.m., a woman with her face covered entered the gas station on 49th Street, waved a knife and demanded money.

The employee complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was last seen heading toward 54th Street.

There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as aboriginal, heavy set, thin or no eyebrows, which are pierced. The suspect wore a black jacket with white stripes down the arms, a blue hat, black shoes with white tips and black jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect to contact Red Deer City RCMP at 403-343-5575.
