The individual is described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 30. He has a medium build and stands approximately 178 to 180 cm (5’10” and 5’11”).

On Aug. 2, Salazar and an unidentified 17-year-old youth were in a car in Highland Green that Salazar had borrowed while getting some work done on his own vehicle.

At about 7 p.m., RCMP were called to investigate reports of gunfire.

They found two injured men seated in a silver-coloured BMW car at the back alley off 63rd Street, half a block west of 59th Avenue. The younger man was taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, treated for wounds and released.

Police said the shooting wasn’t a random act.
