RCMP say five-year-old child shot and killed on Alberta’s Samson Cree reserve

A five-year-old child has been shot and killed on an Alberta reserve.

HOBBEMA, Alta. — A five-year-old child has been shot and killed on an Alberta reserve.

RCMP were called to a home at the Samson Cree First Nation about 3 a.m.

The reserve is one of four located near the town of Hobbema, about 100 kilometres south of Edmonton.

RCMP are describing the shooting as suspicious.

No one is in custody.

More details on the killing are expected to be released at a press conference.
