RCMP seeking man charged with assault on common-law wife

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for Richard Parkhurst for involvement in criminal behaviour and assaulting his common-law wife.

Parkhurst, also known as Rick Parkey and Richard Opperman, was on statutory release.

His whereabouts are currently unknown but he has resided in the Red Deer in the past.

He has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1980, consisting of at least 74 convictions. His criminal convictions are diverse and include everything from robbery, property offences, driving offences, assaults, aggravated assault, assault peace officer, and numerous breach of trust offences.

Parkhurst is described as Caucasian, approximately 168 cms (5’6”) tall, 114 kgs (252 lbs), brown hair, hazel eyes.
