RCMP are urging Alix and Bashaw residents to lock their doors following a rash of residential break-ins in the last few days.

RCMP are urging Alix and Bashaw residents to lock their doors following a rash of residential break-ins in the last few days.

Sgt. Geoff Buxcey of Bashaw RCMP said on Friday that the culprits are breaking into unlocked homes and stealing property.

They usually take wallets, purses and cash.

In addition, they steal keys and use them to enter vehicles on the property.

Buxcey says police want to hear from anyone who may have information about the break-ins.

Police urged the public to take extra care in securing their homes and vehicles when they are away and at night.

People can phone 1-780-372-3793 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
