Red Deer home invasion suspect arrested

A 19-year-old man who is a suspect in a Red Deer home invasion has been arrested.

Red Deer RCMP said officers were on patrol in Riverside Meadows on May 13 when they located a suspicious truck in an alley. Police determined the Dodge Ram had been stolen out of Red Deer earlier the same day. The male driver of the truck provided a false name to police but the investigation revealed him to be Jacob Conrad Courtemanche.

He was wanted on outstanding warrants for his alleged role in an April 25 home invasion in Morrisroe that resulted in a man being sent to hospital with serious injury to his hand.

Courtemanche is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, and assault with a weapon in relation to the home invasion. He also faces other charges of taking a motor vehicle without consent and resisting/obstructing a peace officer

He will appear in court in Red Deer on Monday.
