Changes to the traffic flow and parking at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre site will take effect Oct. 15 as work continues on the parkade and the hospital redevelopment and expansion.
Alberta Health Services said the West public parking lot will be closed, and entrances to the hospital site will be reduced to two from three.
The entrance from 52 Avenue, between the West public parking lot and Central Alberta Cancer Centre parking lot, will be closed.
The entrance from 50A Avenue remains open and will be one-way effective Oct. 15, with traffic exiting to 39 Street. Drivers should pay close attention to signage for public access.
The entrance from 39 Street, accessed from the west off 52 Avenue, remains open.
A portion of the cancer centre public parking lot will also be closed. The public is asked to reserve this lot for cancer patients and their family members.
Public parking is available at the South parkade, but work on expanding the parkade continues to require the closure of 39 Street, between 51 Avenue and 52 Avenue.
Pay machines for parking are located at both the hospital’s and the cancer centre's main entrances.
Signage and flag persons are on site to direct traffic. Motorists are asked to slow down when driving through the site and obey directions. Pedestrians should also keep to posted sidewalks for their safety around construction traffic.
