A 39-year-old Red Deer man reserved his plea on a charge he started a fire at a North Red Deer motel last year.
Michael John Nelson will return to court May 17 after reserving his arson charge Tuesday in Red Deer provincial court.
The fire occurred in a room last October at the Aladdin Motor Inn on Gaetz Avenue North.
No one was injured in the blaze, which caused minor damage.
