Red Deer police seize pot, mushrooms, cash in warrant execution

Red Deer City RCMP nabbed a variety of drugs during a home search Wednesday.

At 7:45 a.m., police executed an authorized search on a residence in north Red Deer as part of an ongoing investigation. Two adult males and three adult females were found in the residence and arrested without incident.

Police seized quantities of psilocybin (mushrooms), marijuana, marijuana resin (hash), drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 28-year-old Red Deer female is facing charges, including two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession. The woman was released from custody and is set to appear in Red Deer provincial court on July 8.

The other people were released from police custody and are not facing charges.
