Red Deer police are investigating the death of an infant as a homicide following Monday’s autopsy results.
The four-month-old baby girl was brought into Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre about 6:30 p.m. on Friday with life-threatening head injuries.
The child was then transferred by STARS air ambulance to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. RCMP were called about 8:30 p.m. after the child arrived at that hospital.
The child died at about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday.
The medical examiner has concluded the death to be a homicide.
