Red Deer RCMP responded to a complaint of found human remains at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Cpl. Kathe DeHeer said police have found something, but they are still trying to establish what it is that they have found.
DeHeer said she could not give the specific location or a description of what was found.
Two police cars were situated along 30th Avenue around half a kilometre north of 67th Street, and another three were parked in the driveway of a residence in the area.
