Eight RV dealers are teaming up to host “The Biggest Little RV Show on Earth” in Red Deer this weekend.

The Red Deer RV Show begins Friday, Feb. 23 at Westerner Park, with displays being set up in Exhibition Hall, and the Parkland, Prairie and Stockman’s Pavilions until Sunday afternoon.

Woody’s RV World, Vellner Leisure Products, Rangeland RV and Trailer Sales, Go RV Red Deer, Fraserway RV, Allan Dale Trailers and RVs, Western RV Country, and Arrkann Trailer and RV will all have products available throughout the show. Additionally, there will be a number of vendors that complement the RV industry.

“This is the first time we’ve had eight dealers in the show since Arrkann came to Red Deer, so this is the biggest Red Deer RV Show in history,” said Ronanne Ashton, Vellner Leisure Products general manager and sales manager.

“The Edmonton and Calgary shows are over, so we’re the last Alberta RV show before spring, so we usually see pretty good attendance.”

Ashton said she expects about 7,500 people to attend the RV show throughout its three days.

“The Red Deer RV Show kicks off our year. Even if people aren’t buying right now, they can buy in the spring, closer to the camping season,” she said.

“It’s a really important show – I think people look forward to it because the winter’s so long. Then there’s the little hope that camping season is almost here.”

Setup for the show will begin on Tuesday.

“It’s like a giant jigsaw puzzle. We have eight dealers and everyone has about 30 trailers each. There are only so many entrances, so we have to work together to make sure everything is brought into the show in the right order. It’s really neat to watch,” said Ashton.

Advance entry tickets are available online until Feb. 22 – adults pay $10, seniors pay $8.50 and those 18 and under can enter free with an adult admission. Tickets purchased on the day of the event are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors.

The Red Deer RV Show is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the show is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a beer garden area throughout the weekend, Ashton noted.

There will also be a VIP night on Thursday, featuring drinks and appetizers. Those interested in attending the VIP night are encouraged to reach out to one of the participating RV dealers to get an invite.
