The Alberta Prairies Life Enrichment Training Studio is set to offer a new round of training this spring.

The 12-week certificate course, titled Life Enrichment Support Worker Program is set to start on April 8, 2024. The course was created for individuals who are interested in and have a passion for starting a career as a support worker for our vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens.

Applications are now being accepted, with in-person spots at the Red Deer office limited. For the learners who live outside of Red Deer, they also offer the program virtually.

“Alberta has been experiencing a crisis due to a lack of Support Workers for our most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens including our elderly/frail, individuals who are living with special needs, our citizens struggling with poverty, homelessness, addictions, mental health concerns, chronic medical health concerns etc.,” APLETS said in a press release.
