Resolution possible for HIV positive's aggravated sexual assault charges

A resolution may be worked out in the case of a man facing 11 counts of aggravated sexual assault.

A resolution may be worked out in the case of a man facing 11 counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Paul Thompson, 32, who police said is HIV positive, returns to court on Sept. 8 to enter a plea.

Provincial court heard on Wednesday that a resolution is possible at that time.

The accused is alleged to have had unprotected sex with a woman who says she was not informed of his medical condition, Calgary police said earlier.

Aggravated sexual assault includes endangerment of life and HIV exposure may be life threatening.

Thompson remains in custody.
