Recreation Centre Park was a hive of activity on Thursday as volunteers and board members, like Guy Barnabe, above, of the Red Deer Region French Canadian Association of Alberta, were preparing for the two-day Carnaval de Red Deer. In addition to the Recreation Park site, the carnaval will offer up entertainment and participatory events at the Red Deer Public Library and Golden Circle Park. Everything begins with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. today and comes to a conclusion at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
