Ross Medical will be expanding in Red Deer to open a new non-hospital surgical facility in the downtown this summer.

The expansion is in response to the growing demand for private and publicly insured surgical procedures. Specializing in private procedures such as plastic surgery, the facility is also positioned to increase its services to include a range of publicly insured services.

“By offering a mix of private and publicly insured procedures, we are not only catering to the diverse needs of our patients but also contributing to the broader health system by easing the strain on hospital resources,” Dr. Kody Johnson, a Ross Medical spokesperson, in a statement.

The health care provider said the surgical centre aims to significantly alleviate pressure on local hospitals, shorten surgical wait times, and help revitalize the downtown core.

“Our vision for the new surgical facility goes beyond providing exceptional patient care. We are committed to becoming an integral part of the downtown revitalization, bringing new energy and services to the heart of Red Deer,” Johnson said.
