The City of Red Deer will close down Ross Street from 49th Avenue to Gaetz Avenue on Saturday and Sunday, as work continues on Veterans’ Park.
The road closure is necessary to install manholes and catch basins for Veterans’ Park and it is being done on the weekend to minimize the impact to commuters.
Once the underground work on manholes and catch basins is finished over the weekend, asphalt repairs on Ross Street must be completed on Monday morning and into the afternoon before the road is re-opened to traffic.
Traffic will be re-routed to one lane on the north side of the Cenotaph from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. The detours will be removed once the asphalt has cooled enough to handle vehicle traffic.
