The service for a young teenager who died in a car crash near Breton last week will be held at CrossRoads Church today.

Morgan Thomas Hetchler, 15, a Red Deer native, was one of four young people who died following a two-vehicle collision at a rural intersection near Breton on Feb. 20.

William Chad Saunders, 20, who was born in Red Deer and was from Edmonton area, and Spencer Gustafson, 21, of the Breton area also died at the scene. A third person, Karlee Williamson, 18, also of the Breton area, died later at a hospital in Edmonton.

Hetchler lived in Red Deer until about six months ago when he moved to Breton with his mother, Donna Fox, and stepfather John Farmer. Hetchler attended Breton High School where he was in Grade 9.

Thomas Hetchler, of Kelowna, B.C., said his son will be remembered for his kind nature, how happy he was and his ability to light up a room. Reached at his mother’s home in Innisfail, he said his son loved outdoor pursuits including riding dirt bikes, quadding and skateboarding.

Funeral services start at 1 p.m. at CrossRoads Church (just east of Red Deer at 32nd Street and Hwy 2).
