Residents of south east Red Deer are asked to suspend outdoor watering starting Tuesday night (July 14) at midnight and lasting until noon on Thursday to allow repairs.

The water restriction affects all residents who live east of 50th Avenue and south of 55th Street.

“We will need to shut down the pump station while the work is underway and we are asking residents to refrain from outdoor water use to ensure adequate emergency storage during the repair period,” said Randy Reaman, city water superintendent.

City crews are working on piping repairs and a meter replacement in the Clearview Water Pumping Station.

Subdivisions affected by the water restrictions include Michener Hill, Grandview, Mountview, Sunnybrook, Sunnybrook South, Bower, South Hill, Clearview, Eastview, Morrisroe, Anders, Inglewood, Rosedale, Deer Park, Lancaster and Vanier Woods.

Residents in those areas will notice reduced water pressure during this period.
