A Springbrook man will have a trial about a year after he was charged with marijuana trafficking offences.
Tony Stephen Catonio, 33, will be tried on May 11, 2012, in Red Deer court following a brief appearance on Thursday.
Catonio, who is on $1,500 cash bail release, was charged on May 5 by RCMP with three alleged offences.
Red Deer Rural RCMP, acting on reports of suspicious activity, executed a search warrant at a private Springbrook residence. They found 2.5 kg of marijuana and seized several thousand dollars.
Police said earlier the street value of the pot is about $22,000.
Catonio faces charges of trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of money that is a proceed of crime.
