Stolen excavator near Blackfalds

RCMP asking for information

RCMP are asking for information about a stolen Caterpillar from a work site.

Blackfalds RCMP say sometime between 7:30 p.m. on April 21 and 7 a.m. on April 22, a Caterpillar 345CL excavator was stolen from a work site near the intersection of Hwy 2 and Hwy 597.

It is believed that the excavator was loaded on a flat deck trailer being towed by a semi truck. The excavator was loaded north of the Blindman Bridge on Hwy 2, in the northbound lanes. It is believed an entire lane would have been blocked during the loading process.
