Summer season begins

Don Adams Welding employee John Lawson and coworker Brandon Wierenga, move Q-decking roof panels around the site of the new stage at Bower Ponds on Friday. When complete, the $300,000 structure will feature a storage room, improved power servicing, canopy and sound control vault. Facilities at Bower Ponds are again open for the summer season starting today. The May 9 to 31 weekend and holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the facility is open weekdays from 4 to 9 p.m. Beginning June 1, hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Along with the new stage, a new playground is also being installed at Bower Ponds. Both of these projects are scheduled to be completed prior to the Canada Day celebrations July 1. For Bower Ponds Pavilion booking information, contact the city at 403-309-8426.
