Suspect sought in attempted armed robbery at south-end liquor store

A male suspect is being sought by Red Deer RCMP following an attempted robbery of a south-end liquor store.

Surveillance photos of the suspect who attempted to rob a south-end liquor store on Monday were obtained by police.

A male suspect is being sought by Red Deer RCMP following an attempted robbery of a south-end liquor store Monday evening.

At about 9 p.m. an unknown man entered the Liquor Depot in the 3400 block along Gaetz Avenue, brandished a knife and demanded cash from the clerk.

The clerk did not comply with the man’s demands, and he fled on foot.

Red Deer City RCMP Police Dog Services assisted in a search for the suspect, but he was not located.

The suspect is described as:

• Caucasian

• 178 cm (5’10’) tall

• slim build

• dark medium-length hair

• wearing a black toque

• dark-coloured pants

• white hooded sweater

RCMP are continuing to investigate with the assistance of Red Deer RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
