Suspected drug trafficker nabbed by police

A suspected drug trafficker walked into the hands of police on Tuesday.

A suspected drug trafficker walked into the hands of police on Tuesday.

Red Deer City RCMP officers with the Community Response Unit were doing foot patrols when they saw a suspicious vehicle parked in the 5000 block of Ross Street about 12:30 p.m.

Police spoke to the male driver when he got out of the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was observed hanging out of the male’s jacket, according to RCMP. The male was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

Police discovered crack cocaine when the male was searched.

Ryan Simoneau, 32, of Red Deer, was remanded in custody and was set to appear in court on Friday on charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to comply with a probation order and driving an uninsured vehicle on the highway.
