Teen boy beaten by masked attackers

Red Deer City RCMP are looking for suspects who wore Halloween-type masks when they attacked a 16-year-old male Friday evening.

City RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault after the 16-year-old Red Deer youth had been taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital by his family for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Further investigation revealed that between 8 and 9 p.m. Friday , the youth had met up with friends at a green space, located below the northbound Gaetz Avenue bridge, just north of 55th Street. While

there, the youth was approached by three males.

The males attacked and assaulted the victim, possibly with a weapon. After the assault, all three males departed the area and the victim returned to his residence.

Besides the masks, the attackers are described at approximately 17 years of age and wearing black hoodies.

Red Deer RCMP Police Dog Services assisted but no suspects were located. Police believe that the suspects are known to the victim.
