A tornado was reported 25 km west north-west of Sundre by multiple storm spotters at about 3:30 p.m.

Environment Canada says the thunderstorm cell that is responsible for the severe weather is tracking southeast at 25 km/h and severe thunderstorms with tornadoes are imminent or occurring.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail, and Stettler.

Weather watches are also in effect for Rocky Mountain House and Caroline areas.
