Ponoka RCMP are seeking public help to find the driver of a Dodge truck that struck a school bus in Ponoka Tuesday afternoon.

No one on the bus was injured in the collision.

A school bus carrying two students and the driver were stopped at a four-way stop at 53 Avenue in Ponoka about 3:25 p.m. when a truck rear-ended the bus and then left the scene of the accident.

The truck headed south on Hwy 2A and was last seen travelling west on Hwy 53 from Ponoka, said RCMP Cpl. Gary McLaren

The Dodge dually-extended cab pickup truck is said to have had welding equipment in the back. Witnesses say the truck was very dirty and sustained heavy damage on the front end.

Anyone with further information about the collision, the welding truck or its driver is asked to call Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4471 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
