Two Red Deer men were injured, one seriously, early Friday morning in a collision involving two quads police said were stolen.

At 4:10 a.m., Red Deer Rural RCMP and emergency services responded to the Hwy 11A crash, just west of Range Road 284, between Red Deer and Sylvan Lake.

Both drivers on the eastbound quads lost control and rolled, RCMP said.

A 21-year-old man was taken by STARS to a Calgary hospital with serious injuries. A 28-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP said the ATVs were stolen earlier Friday from separate rural locations near the crash scene.

Police believe only the two ATV riders were involved in the crash.
