Two injured in early morning stabbing

Red Deer RCMP are investigating a double stabbing that happened early this morning in the downtown.

A stabbing victim, an 18-year-old male from Red Deer, arrived at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre at about 3:20 a.m. and was taken by STARS air ambulance to Calgary with serious injuries. A 19-year-old male, of Red Deer, was treated and released from Red Deer hospital.

Police believe the stabbings occurred at or near a bar parking lot at the corner of 47th Street and Gaetz Avenue.

Red Deer General Investigation Service and the Forensic Identification Section are still investigating.
