Two men are facing charges after Blackfalds RCMP stopped what they say was a break and enter in progress.

Police were on a routine patrol in a Red Deer Country industrial park in the early hours of Thursday in an effort to curb crime.

Officers spotted a truck with its engine running parked in front of a closed business. When police approached, the truck drove off and two men fled on foot.

The suspects were apprehended nearby with the assistance of police dog services.

Thomas Larkin of Red Deer County and Zacharias Paradoski of Blackfalds have been charged with two counts of break and enter and resisting arrest, while Paradoski was also charged with two counts of failing to comply with conditions and possessing break-in tools.

The two are set to appear in court May 21.
