Two Central Alberta men were arrested after a police officer saw them entering a stolen car in a Tim Hortons parking lot in Lacombe.

The Lacombe Police Service discovered that a suspicious vehicle left in the parking lot of a Lacombe coffee shop was stolen.

An undercover police officer watched the vehicle as two men attempted to enter it at about 3:15 p.m. When approached, the men attempted to flee.

The males were arrested after what was described as a “high risk takedown.”

Charges are pending against a 34-year-old man from Ponoka and a 43-year-old man from Lacombe. Both are scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court this week.
