United Way Central Alberta has distributed $517,500 to 14 programs offered by community groups across the region, and is also spreading the word about the United Way's fund to assist Jasper fire evacuees.
United Way Central Alberta's 2023 Campaign raised $1.5 million locally and this year partner agencies will receive the second round of three-year funding for programs.
Lori Jack, United Way community impact manager, said the United Way strives to be good stewards of donation dollars, and multi-year funding provides security for agencies to plan and budget.
"At the end of the day it's the programs that show the greatest capacity for good outcomes that we tend to be most likely to support with our multi-year funding," Jack said.
