Whistler RCMP have not ruled out foul play in the disappearance of former a Red Deer resident.

Sgt. Shawn Lemay of the Whistler RCMP said police are continuing to look for Michael Grefner, 34, who was reported missing in Whistler on Jan. 18 when he did not show up for work at a nightclub where he was a resident DJ.

Police are following up on all tips and information, including tips on social media websites like Facebook and with family and friends.

“We have no indication at this time to indicate any foul play,” said Lemay. “We certainly are not ruling anything out. We are looking at everything throughout the course of our investigation. Whether he is missing and he wandered off or he is safe and just unable to be located at this time.”

As of Monday morning, Lemay said, there were no hard leads on the case.

Grefner grew up in Red Deer and graduated from Camille J. Lerouge High School. He moved to British Columbia about seven years ago to pursue a career in the music industry. He is known as DJ Vs Zero and has become a popular DJ in the club scenes in Canada.

Grefner’s parents and sister live in Red Deer and flew to Whistler last week to join the search.

A Facebook group was created to help find Grefner.

Anyone with information is asked to call Whistler RCMP at 403-932-3044.
