Wildrose Party Leader Danielle Smith will visit Central Alberta at least twice in the next two weeks.

Smith is scheduled for an appearance on Wednesday with Kerry Towle, the party’s Innisfail-Sylvan Lake candidate, for Wine and Cheese at the Beach at the Sylvan Lake Lion’s Hall, at 5119 50th Ave. The event, hosted by the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding, runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Smith then returns on Thursday, Nov. 10, for a fundraising dinner at the Red Deer Lodge. Tickets are $25 at the door, opening at 6 p.m.

The Wildrose Party has nominated candidates in a number of rural ridings, including Joe Anglin in Rocky Mountain House, Rod Fox in Lacombe-Ponoka, Rick Strankman in Drumheller-Stettler and Bruce Rowe in Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills.

However, the party has not yet named candidates in either of the two Red Deer ridings.

The party has four members in the legislature. Smith has not yet run for election.
