Woman attacked and robbed in Red Deer parking lot

City RCMP are investigating an afternoon parking lot robbery in the South Pointe Common area of Red Deer on Wednesday.

City RCMP are investigating an afternoon parking lot robbery in the Southpointe Common area of Red Deer on Wednesday.

RCMP say a woman was getting into her car in the 2000 block of Gaetz Avenue around 2:20 p.m. when a man approached asking for cash and cigarettes. The woman refused so the male suspect slammed the open car door on her leg.

The woman then complied and gave the man some money. The man fled heading south but not before slamming the door on the woman’s leg a second time.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 172 cm tall and 81-95 kgs (5 ft-8 in, 180 to 210 lbs) light brown matted hair with blond streaks, wearing blue jeans and a long brown coat.
