A woman who was charged in connection with a Bashaw house fire has been committed to stand trial for attempted murder and one arson-related charge.

The woman, who can’t be named because of a publication ban, appeared in Stettler provincial court on Wednesday.

Two other attempted murder charges were withdrawn along with another arson-related charge.

The charges were laid following a fire in Bashaw in December of 2010.

A man was treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns in the early morning fire. A woman and two children escaped without injury.

The woman returns to court Nov. 7 for a plea and to set a trial date.
