Women face drug charges

The Red Deer City RCMP street team executed a search warrant on a residence at the 3900 block of 51st Avenue in Red Deer on Jan. 19. Two women who live in the residence were arrested.

Police seized a quantity of methamphetamine, a quantity of psilocybin, drug trafficking paraphernalia, more than $2,000 in cash and stolen property. The stolen property seized was from a residential break and enter on Jan. 17, police say.

Police have charged Stacey Hogg, 23, of Red Deer, with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking; one count of possession of proceeds of crime, two counts of breach of recognizance; one count of break and enter and one count of extortion.

Hogg was remanded in custody to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Thursday.

The other woman, age 30, has not been formally charged and will not be identified until an information is sworn. She faces one count of illegal possession of drugs and one count of fail to comply with probation.

She was released and will appear in Red Deer provincial court on Feb. 23.
