Women’s Fun Run raises more than $35,000

More than 1,200 people recently walked or ran in the 2019 Red Deer PCN Women’s Fun Run at Lindsay Thurber High School and McKenzie Trails.

The run is all about encouraging women, girls and families to be more physically active and to lead a healthy lifestyle in a fun, inclusive, welcoming environment.

The May 11 event included a health, wellness and gift expo featuring more than 60 local businesses and community partners.

The race supports The Mustard Seed school lunch program in Red Deer, which serves more than 56,000 meals every year to local students in need.

This year, the Fun Run raised more than $35,000 to support this important charity.

The race is quickly becoming a Mother’s Day tradition for many local women and families.
