Loki Beaulieu, five, gets a dip from his mother Lindsay as they dance to some Metis jigs played by musicians Henry Rediron, Stan Young and Liz Marshal during a Metis Week celebration at the Golden Circle this week. Along with a full buffet meal, singing and dancing, those in attendance were treated to a one-man play about Louis Riel’s trial and hanging 125 years ago. This has been recognized as the Year of the Metis in Canada by the Canadian government and Tuesday of this week was Louis Riel Day.
