A 15-year-old male accused in an armed robbery of a 24-hour pitstop in Innisfail earlier this month is heading back to court.

Innisfail RCMP arrested three teenage males from the town in connection with a robbery that took place at a 24-hour gas station and convenience store at about 4 a.m. on Feb. 7.

Police allege that one suspect assaulted the lone male employee while the other two loaded cigarettes into bags. They then fled in a vehicle and were arrested shortly after.

The victim suffered injuries that didn’t require medical attention.

Police will not disclose the type of weapon but said it was not a gun.
