The Notre Dame Cougars are the top seed heading into the Central Alberta High School Football League playoffs.
The Cougars downed the Hunting Hills Lightning 37-8 on Friday night, finishing the regular season 6-0. The Lightning finished second with a 5-1 record. The H.J. Cody Lakers beat the Lacombe Rams 20-17 and Camrose Trojans knocked off the Settler Wildcats 24-7.
The league playoffs are set to start Thursday, with the seventh-place Wildcats taking on the sixth-place Rams in Lacombe. The winner will play Camrose in the consolation finals on Nov. 1.
Friday night will feature a doubleheader in Red Deer under the lights at Setters Place. The third-place Lakers will take on the Lightning at 4 p.m., with the fourth-place Lindsay Thurber Raiders and Cougars playing at 7 p.m.
